Neue Galerie, New York
The idea for the Neue Galerie emerged from the friendship between art dealer and museum curator Serge Sabarsky and businessman, philanthropist, and art collector Ronald S. Lauder, united by their shared passion for Modern German and Austrian art. After Sabarsky’s passing in 1996, Lauder founded the Neue Galerie as a tribute to his friend.
The collection transports visitors to the heart of Vienna circa 1900, an era where art and design were becoming inseparable. It showcases not only breathtaking masterpieces by Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Oskar Kokoschka, Richard Gerstl, and Alfred Kubin but also intricate decorative works of the Wiener Werkstätte. The exquisite furniture on display, crafted by legendary designers such as Josef Hoffmann, Koloman Moser, Dagobert Peche, Adolf Loos, Joseph Urban, and Otto Wagner.
At the pinnacle of this collection is the tribute to Gustav Klimt, with entire rooms dedicated to his practice. The highlight is the mesmerising masterpiece, Portrait of Adele Bloch Bauer(1907). This piece brings emotion from both its timeless beauty and its extraordinary history. The portrait was one of five Klimt paintings that were seized from the Bloch-Baur home by the Nazis in 1938. It remained on display in Vienna where it was renamed Woman in Gold. After years of legal battles, the surviving heir, Maria Altmann, secured its restitution in a landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling in 2005. Acquired by Ronald S. Lauder in 2006, the painting is now on permanent display at the Neue Galerie, honouring the family’s wishes.

Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, Lisbon
Established to house the personal collection of Armenian businessman and philanthropist, Calouste Sarkis Gulbenkian, the museum spans over 5,000 years of art history showcased through Gulbenkians wide ranging interests.
Gulbenkians collection reflects his refined taste and global outlook, representing some of the finest examples from different cultures and eras. Meticulously curated over his lifetime, the collection has become one of the worlds most significant, for both its artistic value and its rich educational impact, offering insights into the breadth and depth of human creativity across time and geography.
The collection includes Egyptian, Greko-Roman, Mesopotamian, Eastern Islamic, Armenian and Far Eastern Art. From the West are a number of notable paintings by artists including Rembrandt, Manet, Turner and Degas, as well as sculptures, manuscripts and decorative arts. French jeweller René Lalique, a close friend of Calouste Gulbenkian, sold nearly 200 pieces to him between 1899 and 1927. The museum’s dedicated room highlights Lalique’s masterpieces from the Art Nouveau period, during which Gulbenkian acquired many of his most iconic jewels.
The museum was purpose-built to house Gulbenkian’s collection and is considered a landmark of Portuguese architecture. Designed with clean lines and interconnected spaces, it is set within lush gardens by landscape architects Gonçalo Ribeiro Telles and António Viana Barreto, featuring lawns, trees, pools, and an open-air amphitheater. Large picture windows throughout the museum offer visitors seamless views of both art and nature.

Peggy Guggennheim Collection, Venice
Peggy Guggenheim was a visionary art collector and patron whose keen eye for talent shaped the modern art landscape. Born in New York in 1898, she spent much of her life in Europe, where she developed close relationships with groundbreaking artists and intellectuals. After World War II, she moved to Venice, where her passion for modern art culminated in the creation of one of the most important collections of 20th-century art.
The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is now a cornerstone of 20th-century European and American art in Italy. Nestled in Peggys former residence, the Palazzo Venier dei Leoni on the Grand Canal, this museum showcases her exceptional collection of Surrealist, Abstract, and Cubist works.

Koo House Museum, Gyeonggi
The Koo House is an innovative art and design museum showcasing the extensive almost 50-year collection of Director Jungsoon Koo. The museum was founded on Koos motto, Living with Art, following her philosophy that artworks are not for possessing but for sharing.
Designed by architect Min Seok Cho, the museum therefore offers a unique, home-inspired experience where each exhibition room is named after typical family house rooms such as the ‘Living Room’, ‘Library’ and ‘Attic’, seamlessly blending artworks with furniture. The ‘Jean Prouvé’ room unsurprisingly, is a tribute to French architect and designer and is filled with his furniture, which is now part of Koos collection.
Situated in the outer suburbs of Seoul, in Gyeonggi-do, the Koo House features approximately 500 pieces from celebrated artists including David Hockney, Katherine Bernhardt, Daniel Burren, Doho Suh, Max Ernst, Hans-Peter Feldmann, Choi Jeong Hwa, Michael Craig-Martin, Katharina Fritsch, Damien Hirst, Gary Hume, William Kentridge, Tony Oursler, Paik Nam-June, James Turrell and many others.

Vanhaerents Art Collection, Brussels

The Broad was founded byphilanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad.In addition to its dynamic schedule of rotating temporary exhibitions, the museum houses over 2,000 artworks from the Broad Collection, one of the worlds leading collections of postwar and contemporary art.
